Roger Bissière (1886-1964) : Figure beside

The exhibition, entitled Bissière, Figure beside, co-produced with the musée de Lodève and in close collaboration with the artist’s family, is being held to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the painter Roger Bissière.
The exhibition is part of the 2014 National Commemorations by the French Ministry of Culture.
Centred on the artist’s painted works, the exhibition traces Bissière’s entire career, from his figurative and post-Cubism period in the 1920s to his non-figurative painting after the Second World War, in a selection of almost 90 works from public and private collections. This exhibition also gives us an opportunity to display the artist’s works held by the museum.
